The eventful history of Aurantola dates back to the 17 th century. In the 18 th century the manor was kept by the Fabritius family, the next century it was the Hisinger family´s turn. The wedding chapel was once a grain store, built in 1758.

The decorative main building was built in the very beginning of the 20 th century. The preceding building burnt down under suspicious circumstances. The Lady of the manor Iida devided her estate into three, leaving one part for herself and the other two for her two daughters Saima and Lyydia. Saima and her husband Artturi Auranto moved into the new building with 700 hectares of land.

Lauri Auranto the son of Artturi and Saima carried on in his parents´ footsteps. Their lives were disrupted when Lauri´s wife died young. 1970 Taisto Nikkinen bought the property which was now 12 hectares. Taisto renovated the old buildings and started to build the cottages on the island. In the 1980´s Aurantola became a very popular holiday camp. After a few different owners the Sharp family, who use to own a shoe factory in Kankaanpää, bought Aurantola on the first of May 2001. In the following years the Sharp family kept on with the good work.
